I have hiked in the "Garmont Vegan" for at least years. I have done all kinds of hikes including overnight backpacks, rock scrambles and long (35 km in a day) trail hikes. They required no break in period, and they never gave me blisters (as long as I remembered to lace them up really tight). They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. A few years ago, I bought a second pair, so that I will have replacements when the ones I have now wear out. They are starting to show their age now. I don't know if you can still get them, but they are worth looking for. Keith
