I think just about every vegan has faced this dilemma at some time. Obviously, it is a very personal decision, but, from talking to others on this forum and others, the most common way to handle it is to take your meds. It isn't possible to be perfectly 100% vegan. (There are apparently non-vegan additives in tire rubber and asphalt pavement, for instance.) A doctor prescribes medication because you need it. For most people, this is one area where they are willing to compromise. Many draw the line between prescription and non-prescription medication, on the basis that one is necessary whereas the other isn't. There is no right or wrong solution to such decisions. Just consider your alternatives and do the best you can. Keith
