The community standard here is that participation in Halloween is optional. You indicate your participation by putting a pumpkin at the end of your driveway. It makes it easy to opt out. There are no kids in our neighbourhood anyway. Besides, around trick-or-treat time, I will be at the airport picking up my wife, who has been visiting her parents on the east coast. Keith
