No, it's not vegan, as the flu virus for the vaccine is grown in eggs before it is killed and put in the vaccine. People with egg allergies are always told not to get the vaccine as it contains egg proteins. (And even if it didn't, the vaccine wouldn't be vegan due to how it was made.) However, if I thought it medically necessary, I would consider making an allowance for a non-vegan vaccination for medical reasons.

The main reason I'm not getting the vaccine is because the injected vaccine contains thimerosal(mercury) preservative. I will not knowingly put mercury in my body. I was going to put in a link to CDC's webpage where they admit that many units of the vaccine contain mercury, but I see they've taken it down. I was at that page a couple weeks ago!

If you can find the inhalable mist vaccine, it does not contain mercury, but is not vegan.
