U.J., there are filters, but the site uses an agency that doesn't always screen the ads effectively. If you have complaints, please write to the Nelsons directly, as they are the owners of the site. The ads keep the site going. If users wish to see the ads minimized, they can send contributions to the Nelsons as well (as they use their own finances to support the site and the many other sites they host). Please don't use this forum to complain about the ads (even though I agree that an ad for steak is offensive). ~Jo
