I would have been furious with my husband, too, Jo! But I would also have been furious with daughter's boyfriend, as what he did was devious and divisive, in my opinion. (I hope daughter isn't serious about this young man.) Something that really bothers me about animal 4-H projects is that these animals are tamed and pampered and grow to love and trust the young people who then sell them to the highest bidder. They are pets, but are sent to the slaughterhouse like any other factory-farmed animal. It seems such a betrayal to me. Would these young people send a devoted dog to the slaughterhouse? Sorry for being so harsh, but this is really a sore point with me!
