That makes sense. Unfortunately the girl who always ordered vegetarian (we have known her for many years) ordered a taco salad at a restaurant with m*t! I was actually pretty flabbergasted. It was a situation where she had already ordered, after the fact and she ALWAYS made it a point to respect my wishes up to that point. It was strange. I think the next time we go out I will just make a point to remind her beforehand, I will only buy vegetarian, if you want something else you'll have to pay for it yourself as it violates my ethics to purchase that stuff.

I had a situation come up with my daughter's boyfriend, he wants dollar support for a 4-H project and he actually went to my husband because he "knows how I feel about animals." Well, I don't support 4-H in any way and I make a point to let people know I don't and why I don't. My husband gave him $100 (which annoys me but it's his decision.) I told my husband that me going along with supporting that would give the boyfriend the message that my ethics were not that important to me -- I told him I figured the pig values his life more than the boy values 4-H.

I kind of wish my husband had taken the same stance but he has to make his own decisions. Everybody does and we have separate bank accounts, etc.
