In all areas of vegan living, there are going to be compromises. You make them every day, even though you don't think about them. The car you drive, your municipal water, the glue in parts of your home, some of your clothing, etc. all have animal derivatives -- there is no escaping it. Even when you are going grocery shopping, you are supporting a store that also sells nonvegan products, and the person checking you out is likely a meat eater, and your purchases support their salary. Is that not vegan? Of course not! If we dissect any part of our lives, we will find that living a perfect vegan life is impossible. But that is not the point of begin vegan, is it? We must weigh how we can do the most good during the short time we have on this planet. That will be different for each of us. If I spend time worrying about what an imperfect vegan I am, I will lose precious time to help others (and those others include both animals AND people). Good luck to you, Ellie!! Hugs,
