That is a beautiful statement, Pat -- a true testament for your motivations and the motivations of most vegans. I find my reasons, like yours, often too complex to put into a single statement. I also don't want to engage in debates with people who don't understand or who disagree with my views and beliefs. So, when someone asks me why I am vegan, I usually simply say, "For all the reasons you might imagine." If they have a sincere interest, they usually will ask a few questions and we can get into a respectful dialogue. If they don't, my answer seems to satisfy them, and they let it go. ~Jo
