Subject: Rain Barrels

Hi all. Odd question. Does anyone use rain barrels or containers to catch rain water at their home? If so, do you position them under downspouts or how exactly do you catch the rain? Question #2, how do you keep it from becoming a mosquito haven? I have been thinking more and more about getting one to try, but worry about mosquitoes, etc.
