Subject: jel dessert - vegan

I found this stuff at Pilgrim's today, it's Natural Desserts brand jel dessert (jello) and says on the box it's vegan. Here's the ingredients:

Evaporated cane juice, vegetable gum, adipic acid, potassium citrate,natural flavor, beet powder.

What do you suppose is the jelling agent -- vegetable gum? I'm a bit gelatin-shy as Eme's kosher jel turned out to be NOT VEGAN after everybody used it for years.

Anybody know anything about this product?
