I like KitchenAid food processors, but others swear by Cuisinart. With most kitchen appliances, you get what you pay for. The more pricey they are, the more likely it is they will have greater power to hold up under heavy loads like hummus. I would suggest seeing what's available in your price range online and then doing a search for reviews to see what actual users think.
