Subject: vegan accomodation in NYC

I will be travelling with my partner to New York City in May and can't wait - it looks like a vegan paradise (so many vegan restaurants to try, so little time).

I am currently looking for accommodations and was wondering if anybody can recommend some good places to stay (preferably catering to vegans but not necessarily).
Also, any food recommendations would be great.
