Needles scare the @#$% out of me. If a doctor needs to draw blood from me, I have to be lying down or I'll faint. However, with the recent death of my friend, Ingrid, of leukemia I've wondered what I can do to help others with similar problems. I can't destroy leukemia or prevent it from hurting other human beings. However, if I could overcome my phobia of needles, I could give blood. That might end up helping someone who really needs it. My blood type is O-positive, which means, if I understand correctly, that I can give blood to anyone. But needles REALLY freak me out. Is there some way I can overcome that?
