I've gone through a similar thing with my high school sweetheart. She was an exchange student from Japan. I had dreams of running away to Japaan, marrying her and having a daughter that I could dress up in a cute kimono with cherry blossoms on it. I heard from her a few years ago (late 90's). She ended the post card saying she was off to Egypt for a vacation. That's the last I've heard from her. A letter sent to her last known address was returned as no such person at that address. I often wonder if she's alright.

I imagine that my reaction would be similar to yours if I read her obituary. Jo's beautifully written response is excellent advice. I can't add anymore to it. My prayers are with you.
