Subject: Palm oil - one more thing to avoid

Hi everyone!

Awhile back ago I learned about the fact that the use of Palm oil is killing Orangutans, as well as their rainforest homes (you just gotta love humans.) And the fact that because of this they expect the Orangutans to be extinct by 2012, unless something is done. So, of course, I decide to do my part by making sure I do no buy anything with palm oil in it.
I buy a lot of natural stuff, so it isn't too hard.

Anyway, I got some Tofutti cream cheese over christmas I don't normally buy Tofutti anymore (since I don't have any money.) I noticed that Tofutti uses Palm oil in their cream cheese :o(.
I don't buy it often anymore, but I was sad thinking it was one more thing on my off limit list.

My question is, does anyone know if Tofutti uses sustainable palm oil?

I know I should ask them. I do plan on writing a letter, but I haven't done it yet. So, I thought I would ask you guys to see if you guys have found out.

Oh, one good thing is that I found out that the palm oil Sjaak's uses in their chocolate is sustainable :o).

Isn't it great to add one more thing to the very long do not eat vegan list. :o)
