Hi, Jim! It's enjoyable to return to our old "comfort foods" and recipes, isn't it?! I have fun experimenting in the kitchen, too, but there are just some old standards that are simple, comforting, and always work that I return to again and again. I think keeping a notebook of them is a smart idea. Then you can turn to them whenever you like, without having to search through every book you own. I'm really glad you found the Chuckwagon Stew heavenly -- I think it is, too! :-) ~Jo
