Subject: Ants (advice/insight GREATLY appreciated)

My apt recently became invaded by ants. I discovered Joanne's archive
post on how to repel ants and have been using those repellents. They
are still in my home and I have been catching them and letting them
outside. I am wondering if this is making things worse and if I
should let them discover the repellents and lack of food on their own
and leave on their own...rather than moving them outside. I am
wondering if they are just coming right back in because their
investigation of my apt wasn't completed and/or if they are creating
new colonies. Any thoughts?
