I had a slightly similar experience today. I was on a impromptu picnic in the park with a
non-veg friend. The geese were milling about the area, and I was admiring them. I
mentioned how I tend to think of fois gras when I see geese. My friend didn't know what fois
gras was, or how it was produced. Looking at the happy animals in the park and then
imagining them enslaved and force-fed was very compelling, I'm sure. It was so easy to
bring it up in the midst of appreciating life, seeing the happy animals in the park. It felt like
positive reinforcement for our vegan picnic.
