Yes ..It is true that Colgate/palmolive bought Toms of maine but Colgate /palmolive has not tested on animals in many years..the reason they are not on the " Good " List is becasue they will not pledge never to Test Again ..I was there when the CEO of Colgate/Palmolive met with PETA , apologized for the horrible animal abuse he knew nothing about and vowed to work with PETA to change the laws (FDA) ..He pledged not to test unless absolutely necessary ..So far it has not been necessary (OF COURSE IT IS NEVER NECESSARY!) .....so I just wanted to say that it is a step in the right direction and if I ever hear about them testing a product on an animal ..I will write them and never use their products again .. So perhaps write them..tell them how pleased you have been that they haven't tested on animals in years , would like this to continue forever and you will use their products as long as they don't !! ..Expect a letter back that says they will only test if mandated by the Gov't or necessary .. and then keep an Hawk's eye on them .... Hope this clears up a bit ..
