I'm a 54 year old male living in Scottsdale, AZ with my wife and our seven cats, one dog and two bunnies - all rescues. Not all of us are vegan, but most of us are a little Trekkie, probably because of our close proximitely to the planet Chandler. (: Born and raised in New Jersey, I moved to Arizona in 1986. I became a Sierra Club outings leader and I've been leading Sierra Club outings in Arizona for about 20 years, climbing most of Arizon's major peaks. I'm now pursuing a long overdue Master's degree. Hopefully you can see a picture of my wife and I on a very cold day atop Humphreys Peak. Humphreys is Arizona's highest peak at over 12,000 ft. We climbed Humphreys shortly after running our first marathon a few years ago. Since then, we've run several other marathons. I don't mean to brag, just wanted to point out some achievements we've made as vegans. We were both raised as omnivores and both had health challenged childhoods. A vegan diet and lifestyle has definately been an improvement. We're not really sure how "vegan" we are. We look at it as more of a pursuit. We're constantly in pursuit of a more vegan lifestyle.
