With my freckles and messy hair, bruised knee and chapped
lips...this morning I am splendidly imperfect and alive.

Hello! My name is Deva Laurel (pronounced Day-va; it's Sanskrit). I
am a 21 year old theatrical stage manager currently living in
Philadelphia with my bike Grover.

I have been eating a vegan diet for almost 8 years now, and was a ovo-
lacto vegetarian for 4 years before that. Reading Charlotte's Web when
I was a child make me realize that meat was not just something that
magically appeared in a store, but came from living creatures with
feelings. I have been a path of compassion, great health, and
environmental awareness ever since.

This board has been a fabulous resource, sounding board, and just a
plain old fun place to be! As in life, I tend to take everything in
and only speak/post when I really have something to say...but I feel
very comfortable just lurking. I still feel like I'm a part of a
community.

Now, more about me:
I enjoy delectable novels, inspiring theatre, live music, fuzzy
sweaters, fresh strawberries, invigorating tae bo and yoga, and warm
mugs of herbal tea.
