Hello. I am a 25 year old editorial assistant living in Philadelphia,
PA (raised in the 'burbs). I've been vegetarian for about 5 years now;
my move to veganism is still on going, but I've been at it since the new
year began. My further interests are in the arts, especially
literature; I got my MA in English Lit. just this year. My secret dream
is to eventually write a doctoral thesis in which animal issues are
somehow linked with great works of literature (it could happen).

I have friends, but they are not vegan (one or two acquaintances are
vegetarian). This board is helpful when I want to check things out or
vent frustrations. Sometimes I forget how odd my food and lifestyle
choices seem to those unfamiliar with veg*nism.
