My daughter and I recently made a commitment to veganism. I have never
been a religious person because no religion articulated my beliefs in
the sanctity of all life; certainly not Christianity, which does not
prohibit the killing and exploitation of animals but adheres strictly
to human issues. For the first time in my life, I feel that I have
found a set of moral and spiritual beliefs which I can completely
embrace.
