the co-joined twins in my hypothetical situation were not under guardianship of anyone (so parents' decision are irrelevant in this case). they were fully mature, but one was much more dominant and the other was dependent upon the former .

the key is whether an embryo is sentient or not. if not, the pro-life (which is a silly term to begin with) argument has no grounding.

if sentience can be proven (which i think is presently a bit of a long shot), there is still the matter of dependence on the mother and we come closer to the aforementioned twin dilemma.

one can argue for the potential for sentience, but then you have to have irrevocable reverence for all sperm and egg - and that could put a real cramp on some individuals' masturbatory indulgences.
