There are arguments to both sides, and clearly medical implications are going to be introduced into an argument about a conjoined twin situation which are going to vary on a case-by-case basis.

In the case of abortion, we are talking about a clump of cells inside a woman's body that CAN'T SURVIVE OUTSIDE THE WOMB. Therefore, that clump of cells is not a "baby," it's not a "child," and it has no natural rights because it is NOT A PERSON. The rights of the woman trump the rights of the cell mass. This is where the wheels come off the religionists' arguments about "the babies."

But any parallel between termination of pregnancy and "conjoined twins" would be that a decision should be wholly between a woman (or family in the case of the latter) and her doctor. It's a private decision. NOBODY ELSE SHOULD BE INVOLVED.
