Saying that people aren't "pro-abortion" is a way to assuage the hate-filled anti-choice sexists. If you support a woman's right to choose, you must support "abortion." Inherent in the argument is the right to choose to have an abortion. Therefore, you must support the medical procedure called "abortion." And it is nothing more than that. Just a medical procedure. Are you "anti-appendectomy?" Do you oppose removal of cancerous skin lesions? There are many many medical procedures that are more life-threatening than abortion. Abortion is a minor procedure on the face of it. I would go so far as to say I am so "pro-abortion" that I want abortion clinics all over the country - walk-in, free of charge, available to any woman (or minor) who wants one, at any time. No questions asked. Pass a general physical exam indicating that she is physically capable of undergoing the procedure (abortions are MUCH less dangerous than delivering a baby), and let her have it. It doesn't matter why a woman wants one. It doesn't matter what the "reason" is. It's none of our business. But once you start saying "nobody is pro-abortion," you've just become sucked into the rhetoric of the anti-choice, anti-woman, sexist religionists.
