It's about compassion. Sarah Palin is discompassionate in her regard to all life. Her perspective is one that supports needless war, conspicuous consumption and disregard for the planet we are leaving our children and grandchildren.
The fact that you will continue to publish a writer who is not only on the payroll of such a person, but who is in fact her mouthpiece, is extremely disheartening.
The paradox here is obvious.
As a vegetarian, I am grateful to the farmer, to Mother Earth and to all those who have provided for me. How does Sarah Palin fit into this picture?
I, for one, am not waiting for Matthew's "after election justification". There is none.
One cannot love all creatures and then take livelihood from a woman who boasts an ability to field dress a moose.
Ms. Palin is not a starving Alaskan pioneer who has a primal need for animal fat. Considering her per diem payments to live in her own home, she's not desperately poor. So for Sarah Palin, this horrific suffering is considered "sport".
In my thinking, slaughter of helpless creatures for "sport" is not far removed from needless slaughter in war. Any rationalization is shameful and sad.
