Wonderfull story. I will print your story out and take to work today and share with others. The most striking part to me is where you became assertive with DH. That spoke to me. Luckily the BP medicine he came off of must not have been the type of blocker that blocks adreneline, (Beta Blockers, My Policy Regarding Drugs, Healthy Heart Book, John McDougall page 238) . I think Dr. McDougall recommends reducing or halfing some medicines such as the Beta Blockers on a weekly basis rather than cold turkey. Monitoring BP while removing the medicine was also recommended and would have detected a spike of BP, so even if it had been one of the ones that you need to come off of slowly you would have known, hopefully before chest pain. Again this is one of the great stories not only of the program, but of love and caring and the human condition. You did a great thing.
