Hi Kali, I am a parent of 3 very healthy vegetarian kids ages 6, 9, and 13, I am also a nurse. I decided to become vegetarian around the age 20. It was an easier transition for me because I was a young adult and my parents were not cooking for me anymore. It takes a lot of courage and compassion towards animals to become vegetarian, you should be proud of yourself. It is a hard lifestyle change, and you will be asked a lot of questions. Do some research, and have your facts ready. I would suggest telling your dad that it is really important to you and maybe show him this website along with a few others, it is called Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine http://www.pcrm.org/ , There are a few really good articles about raising kids vegetarian and how it is healthier for them. When you get to the website at the top of the page click on HEALTH and then vegetarian diets, and you will find the articles there. Good luck, feel free to email me with any more question. Allie
