Subject:	Can anyone help with my connection problem

I heard this is a very common problem with my computer and with Vista in general. does anybody here know if a fix has been found?

I have a Dell Inspiron notebook computer running Windows Vista. I can connect to the internet by dial up, but the connection is dropped after 5 minutes or so. I reconnect and 5 minutes later, it's dropped.

the problem only seems to happen with the dial connection. when I go to a place that has a wifi hotspot, I have no problem connecting and staying connected.

I've checked my lines at home and there okay because my desk top computer isn't having the problem.
