Subject:	virtual memory on computer

For several days IE took almost a minute to load a page so I used Firefox with no problem. Then yesterday I got an alert that the computer was low on memory and Microsoft was running virtual memory, which I'd never heard of.

I can't get a straight answer from anybody, even the tech boards, about this. Some say to change the settings and other say to leave them alone.

A few minutes ago it took about a full minute to come out of hibernation and show the green light on the monitor. It took that long again for the screen to come up.

Any idea what's going on? I thought maybe a virus or trojan but I'm pretty well protected - I think. Last week I had four trojans but they were taken care of. I think.

I'd really appreciate your suggestions.
