Subject:         Spoiled Soy Yoghurt?
Date: January 6, 2008 at 10:48 am PST

Yesterday I stopped by my local Natural Foods Co-op and picked up a tub of
organic, unsweetened soy yoghurt. (I wanted to experiment with a new brand)
Normally I am good with my groceries and put them in the fridge straight
away, but I had a busy day ystdy and just left my bags on the window sill.
When I woke up this morning, I realised I had left the yoghurt out! It was cool
to the touch, since it is around 20*F during the nighttime where I am. When I
opened it, it smelled and tasted a bit more tart/sour than I am used to; the
consistency is not thick (i.e. I could just pour it out of the tub), so it hasn't
reached the "cottage cheese stage" obviously.

Simply put: is it possible for yoghurt to be rendered inedible after having
been left out overnight?

Thank you!
