Hi- I've found that just replacing confectioner's sugar with maple sugar (can be found at Whole Foods) does the trick with any icing recipe. You have to add gradually and thicken to your liking. Then use unsweetened cocoa or chocolate bar. (Even better- carob) Hope this is helpful!
