Unfortunately, they put sugar in all kinds of foods that don't need it. Try to get food products with the least amount of sugar. It isn't always easy. clnf.org used to have sugar-free granolas and sugar-free cornflakes, but they don't have them anymore. Apparently not enough people bought them. Try cutting down on sugar usage by substituting other sweeteners like maple granules or date sugar. Adding a bit of stevia to recipes allows you to use less of those, too. Try erythritol, a polyol sweetener that doesn't cause gas as do most other polyols. Again, add a bit of stevia to boost the sweet flavor so you can use less erythritol.
