It doesnt take much meat (or fish or chicken) to get the benefits of the meat. It is the protiens in it which are precursors to other things the body needs to function that are so important.
I had a friend who lived with her boyfriend. She tended towards depression anyway, but once she moved in with him, a vegetarian, and it was she who did the cooking, meatless cooking...she started getting REALLY depressed.
I was at a seminar where we were told about this connection. I called her and had her meet me for lunch...at a hamburger joint! Within 2 hours she was feeling more positive and hopeful. Later we spoke about it. She started eating meat, not at home, and rapidly improved. (As did her skin, hair, and energy levels)
Since then she has married this bloke, and after all that, he is now eating a bit of meat occasionally as well. And they are both happier and healthier than previously.
Anecdotal? Yes. But I have seen it over and over again...I'm convinced.
