No offense, but clearly you are not a vegan. You are a vegetarian. Just tell people you are a vegetarian. There is no reason for you to claim that you are vegan. Why would you do that ? Vegan refers to the very strictest form of vegetarianism in which no animal products are consumed. Technically, the last poster is correct that you are specifically an "ovo-vegetarian", but you do not have to be that specific. Just say you are vegetarian. As a vegan, it is important to me that people have a clear understanding about what someone on a vegan diet eats. I don't want non-vegetarians to get confused and think that its okay to put some eggs in my food if they have me over as a dinner guest ! Maybe what you are trying to say is that the bulk of what you eat is actually vegan most of the time, but I think that is probably true of a lot of vegetarians. If a group of vegetarians and vegans get together for a potluck, normally the standard would be that all the dishes must be 100% vegan so that everyone can enjoy them, and the non-vegans don't take that to be any great hardship. In fact, many non-vegan vegetarians get tired of the fact that any time they go to a restaurant and say they are vegetarian, they always seem to end up with cheese all the time !
