Personally, I see nothing wrong with praying for someone, whether they know about it or not. However, some people, aspecially people who are anti-religion, get seriously offended if they find out that someone is praying for them. I don't fully understand this, but the objection seems to be that you are involving them in a religious ritual against their will. Asking permission would seem to be a respectful thing to do. Keith
