When someone is murdered (or when people die) they go to a place that basically, befits how they have lived here on earth. You will not go to a good place if you've lived a bad life. It doesn't matter how you die (except suicides) you will go to where you belong. People who commit murder are the ones who stay earthbound. They know upon death that they are going to hell and the reason why and therefore scared of the prospect, elect to stay here, becoming "earthbound". Everyone upon dying knows of his/her place. Someone from the otherside then appears to ask us do we want to go with them; most agree, except those who've committed murder or other heinous crimes.
As the old adage goes "you won't reap roses if you sow thorns" this bascially sums up our life and the next one we are aspiring to. Good people go to a good place, bad people to a bad place. It doesn't matter if the soul exited this life due to murder, they will still be taken to the other side. The people still hanging around the earthplane are murderers who know thry are going to hell.
