I have to agree with you, that is appalling. The whole point of a jury is that the jurors are not an instrument of the state, but are individuals, functioning as themselves, with all their opinions and biases. Therefore, their judgement absolutely should be informed by their religious views or lack thereof. I prefer our Canadian justice system, and this is one example where the difference is relevant. Here, it is illegal for a juror ever to reveal what went on in the deliberation room. No interviews with reporters, no ghost-written exposé books, not even talking to your spouse about it. That protects the jurors from nonsense like this, and allows them to be themselves in the deliberation room. Keith
