Is there any soy milk offered without added calcium?
Lately I've noticed a number of studies that connect calcium intake with certain cancers. Dr. Campbell's work with mice and whey seems to my unpracticed eye not to have controlled for calcium. The closest he came to it was noting that soy and gluten protein did not promote cancer growth as did whey, but that could mean that it was the calcium instead of or along with the protein.
Other, subsequent studies seem to suggest that calcium is tumor supportive. H'm.
I've looked at several brands of soy milk since then, and all of them have added calcium. I'd hate to give up the stuff entirely--it's great on oatmeal, for example--but I might if they all insist on adding calcium.
Do you know of any soy milk without the calcium?
Maybe I can switch to almond milk?
