Hi Rob,
Thank you for joining our discussion about automatic soymilk makers. I know the Soy Wonder and SoyaPower machines, but I haven't seen the Vegan Star. It looks kind of like a coffee caraffe. Pulp in the milk is a serious issue for me only with machines using dry, unsoaked beans.
There is a medium amount of pulp with the SJ and SQ style machines that is easily addressed. Simply pour the hot milk through a permanent type coffee filter and press the solids against the mesh with a rubber tipped spatula.
PLEASE NOTE: The huge volume of solids produced by milk made with machines using unsoaked beans cannot be remedied in this fashion.
My comments below on this thread address several factors to consider regarding the SoyQuick and SoyaJoy machines, which are similar in some respects. They are by far, the most popular brands, and I have used several of each, over the years.
The latest model SoyQuick machine features a new comfort grip handle, low base stability, and is packed with a video manual in addition to the compehensive hard copy. SoyQuick is also packed with molded, recycled eco-packaging.
In the end, customer service and support before and after the sale should also be a consideration.
