Omni means someone who eats veggies and meat. Have you read the China Study? If you haven't, after you do you might want to eliminate dairy. In a nutshell, Dr. Campbell found through experiments that the protein in dairy -- casein -- caused cancer to be initiated in cells exposed to aflatoxin (a strong carcinogen found in moldy peanuts). He could actually turn cancer growth on by upping the amount of casein protein fed, and turn it off by stopping it. Cancer did not initiate or grow with the same amount of soy or wheat protein. The amount he used was the same amount or even less than most Americans eat every day. He then linked this information to epidemiological studies. I stopped dairy thirteen years ago after reading information by James and Phyliss Balch on general nutrition, and I'm glad I did because it was only recently that I read the China Study.
There are such great alternatives to dairy for everything you can think of -- almond and soy milks taste great and can be used one for one in cooking, Tofutti makes a wonderful non-hydrogenated sour creme and creme cheeze; Soy Delicious and Soy Dream make great ice creams and you can make your own too with a good ice cream maker; cheese is more of a challenge but there are alternatives for that too.
Just a thought, everyone should read that book, mine is currently on loan to a woman whose daughter in her forties is battling breast cancer.
