I, too, was wary of the claims of soy and Alzhelimer's until my personal experience. My 53-year old cousin, with no history of Alzheimers, has full-blown dementia after a life as a tofu/soy eating vegan. Her twin sister, who did not choose that lifestyle, has no dementia issues. This is not the first case I have come across, and it has opened my eyes. As have thyroid issues. I have several friends who started soy during peri-menopuase, and a few who have always been big soy eaters. Is it coincidence that half of my soy-eating friends have suffered from thyroid issues, two having had to have cancerous thyroid removed, with no family history of thyroid? Soy is in almost everything we consume, and I am beginning to fear its negative health effects. I personally gave up soy milk, tofu, and high-soy content foods (can't do much about prepared foods) and have noticed improved vitality and mental focus, so perhaps there is really, truly some truth behind the alarmists' cries. I doubt you will post this as it is essentially a soy warning, but you could be killing people or destroying lives if you don't.
