I think you should read the China Study. I think EVERYBODY should read the China Study. Besides proving without a doubt how harmful animal products are, the book also talks about studies and how they can be misread, misinterpreted, to show just about anything you want them to show.

I personally think the anti-soy stuff is mostly bunk and mostly hype by industries threatened by the explosion of soy products. As long as you stick to the least processed soy products -- which are tofu, tempeh, miso, and soymilk -- products which have been consumed by other cultures for centuries, and cultures that consistently have low rates of typical American disease, I just don't see a problem. I also have been consuming moderate amounts of those products for ten years and am far healthier than most of the people around me my age -- who are starting to show signs of all the typical diseases, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

That's anecdotal, I know, but the China Study is not anecdotal, it's real science and the best we have so far on what constitutes a truly healthy diet.
