A new type of canned shooting has just cropped up—one of the most egregious yet—"Internet hunting." A facility in Texas allows people to log on to the Internet and then use their desktop mouse to point, click, and shoot a live animal. This remote controlled killing is not ethical and has been met with strong criticism from animal protection organizations as well as pro-hunting groups. So far, 14 states have introduced bills to outlaw this activity and four have enacted laws to ban it. New York could be next, with your help. On May 11th the New York Senate unanimously passed a bill to prohibit internet hunting by a landslide 60 to 0 vote. Its companion bill in the Assembly needs your immediate attention before session closes down for the year. Please take action now to help shut down Internet hunting in New York. What You Can Do Speaker Sheldon Silver 2. Please contact your Assembly Member, Helene Weinstein, and urge Assembly Member Weinstein to strongly support a ban on this pay-per-view slaughter.
