this is an old post, but i've had the same issues so i thought i would reply to save someone else the trouble i've been through. i take synthroid and repliva (iron), as well as iodine/selenium caplets and zinc solution from a compounding pharmacy. i avoid soy, flax and cruciferous vegetables, and most importantly, i have a good doctor who respects my lifestyle and gives me sound medical advice. this is what you need most of all. the difference you'll feel--once you find what levels of what medication and supplements work for you--is amazing. unfortunately, there's not some baseline that we can all achieve by being veg*n or following the advice in a book; we're all working with different genetic equipment out of the starting gate. please don't let it go too long, there can be really awful consequences (first-hand experience). best of luck feeling better!
