It is possible that one is a therapist, one a doctor who monitors medication. Or one is her own therapist, one doing entirely separate family therapy. Or something like that.

It is also possible they don't know about each others, in which case, your sil is really hurting herself. To do therapy well, one person should be in teh drivers' seat. If she is playing some sort of game with this, it's bad news.

How in the world is she getting insurance to keep paying for more than a year? most have a 20-session limit!
