a lot of my unmarried and/or childless friends are a lot older than me... the retired group.
For some reason, the members of my family click with different kinds of people so we don't have many mutual friends, or couple to couple friends, even for the kids aren't usually friends with siblings of another family. None of us mind except when someone gets so busy they don't have any time for us. I can't image thinking it is a bad thing to have individual friends.
Hm, well, yes, I put a premium on my family, too. And I mostly make room for other people and/or intersts around them. I don't know how I do it. Except when I had 3 or 4 preschoolers at the same time, I've always had at least some time. One thing, is I don't spend a huge amount of time with any one friend, but we also pick up right where we left off whether it is the next day or a few weeks since the last time we spent time together.
