As for the other questions - of course I do not plan on having affairs or sleeping with women. If I could get that kind of relationship to work out for me, I wouldn't be posting about this. And no, I do not think mothers need to be siphoning off emotional energy that they need to invest in their children, nor should they be setting any less than a squeaky-clean example.
That said, I wouldn't care one bit if my husband amused himself elsewhere, provided he was absolutely discreet about it, did not bring home any diseases, and was present for the family and involved with the children when he should be. You know, the answer might be to find a nice gay man who, like me, needs a cover and wants children. Then a roommate/friend relationship would work for both.
